The NFL is down to four teams for this season, and here are three free agents the Detroit Lions should watch on conference championship Sunday.
On Sunday, the NFL will have its conference championship games. The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles will be first up (3 p.m. ET, FOX), followed by the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Kansas City Chiefs (6:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
With an eye on free agency, the Detroit Lions should be paying attention to playoff teams for pending available players. Conference title game Sunday will be no different. The four best teams in the league this year will not be able to bring back everyone they want to, and some looming free agents may be as good as gone.
The Lions are surely starting to shape a plan for free agency–players they’ll target, players they want to re-sign, players they’ll avoid, players they have to do a little more homework on, etc.
On Sunday, in the conference championship games, these three free agents should particularly be on the Lions’ radar.

3. 49ers OL Daniel Brunskill
Brunskill started his college career at San Diego State as a tight end, moving to right tackle as a senior. He started his NFL journey on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad for two years.
Over four seasons with the 49ers, on the active roster, Brunskill has played all five offensive line positions. As it pertains to the Lions, he was San Francisco’s starting right guard during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He has been more a depth piece this year, starting two games, but he played 519 regular season snaps and 67 snaps in the two playoff games so far.
The Lions could use versatility like Brunskill’s along the offensive line, especially if Evan Brown is lost in free agency. If a decision is made to part ways with Halapoulivaati Vaitai, they’ll be in the market for a starting right guard and Brunskill would be a possible fit there.
