Detroit Lions Week 18 injury report: 5 listed as questionable vs. Packers
Heading into the 2022 regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers, here is the Week 18 injury report for the Detroit Lions.
Even if they can’t make the playoffs with a win, there’s plenty for the Detroit Lions to gain with a win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 18. On the stage of Sunday Night Football, they can at least spoil the Packers making the playoffs, finish with a 9-8 record and generally set a fully positive tone looking to next season.
Here is the Friday Week 18 injury report for the Lions, with game designations.
Detroit Lions injury report: Week 18 at Green Bay Packers
OG Kayode Awosika (ankle)-Out
DL Michael Brockers (ankle)-Questionable
CB Jeff Okudah (elbow)-Questionable
S DeShon Elliott (shoulder)-Questionable
C Frank Ragnow (foot)-Questionable
FB Jason Cabinda (knee)-Questionable
C/OG Evan Brown (ankle)-No designation
RB Justin Jackson (hip)-No designation
Brockers has played in one game since the Lions’ bye week. So his listing as questionable is procedural since he has an injury, and as inconsequential as it gets in terms of how his absence will impact Sunday night’s game.
Elliott seems on track to return from a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury. The team’s second-leading tackler this season will be a welcome return to the lineup.
Okudah has been essentially benched for the last game and a half, but Dan Campbell seemed to suggest things were fine earlier in the week. Then he popped up on the injury report Friday with an elbow injury, which feels convenient in search of a concrete reason to have him not play at all on Sunday night. But alas Okudah is listed as questionable, so there’s a chance he suits up–just don’t expect to see much of him if he does.
Ragnow maintained his recent practice regimen as he deals with a season-long lingering toe injury. That foot would have to be amputated for him to not play Sunday night, and even then he’d probably try to go in his primary matchup against Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark.
Cabinda had limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He seems to have a good chance to play, and he may be a key cog in the Lions’ establishing their ground game against a vulnerable Packers’ run defense.
On the Packers’ side of things, here’s their final injury report for Week 18.
TE Josiah Degura (calf)-Questionable
No injury designation: QB Aaron Rodgers (right thumb/knee), OT David Bakhtiari (knee/abdomen), LB Krys Barnes (hand), S Rudy Ford (wrist/knee), OG/OT Elgton Jenkins (knee), RB Aaron Jones (knee/ankle), OT Yosh Nijman (shoulder), WR Christian Watson (hip), TE Marcedes Lewis (veteran rest)
