As they look to get back into the win column on Sunday, here are three Detroit Lions bets to consider for Week 17 against the Chicago Bears.
As usual, before diving into this week’s best Detroit Lions bets, let’s do the Week 16 accountability session.
WR DJ Chark, Over 33.5 receiving yards (-115, DraftKings; -110 FanDuel): 108 yards
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 6.5 receptions (-106 FanDuel; -105, DraftKings): 7 receptions
St. Brown, Over 71.5 receiving yards (-115, DraftKings): 76 yards
A good week, but on to Week 17. The Lions have maintained as 6-point favorites over the Chicago Bears for a big chunk of the week after opening as 5.5-point favorites. Sunday’s game has the highest over-under (52.5 points) on the Week 17 NFL slate, owing to being indoors at Ford Field and two not-top tier defenses being on the field.
As you lock in your betslips for NFL action in Week 17, via FanDuel or DraftKings Sportsbook as noted, here are three Detroit Lions bets to consider against the Bears.
Best Detroit Lions bets for Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears
DJ Chark Bets
Over 45.5 receiving yards (-113, FanDuel)
Longest reception: Over 21.5 yards (-114, FanDuel; -110, DraftKings)
Chark missed a big chunk of time earlier in the season with an ankle injury. But lately, he has been the deep threat the Lions envisioned having when they signed him last March. He topped 100 yards against the Panthers in Week 16, and he has topped 90 yards in three of the last four. So it’s back to the well this week with the over on a yardage prop.
The Bears are trending the wrong way as a pass defense, as injuries have thinned their secondary. The Lions offense is markedly better at home too.
Chark has a lot of potential variance week-to-week. But healthy and looking to finish the season strongly, 46 yards and the over on the total yardage is like two or three catches these days as he and Goff have built chemistry. Pairing it with an over 21.5 yards for his longest reception feels easy.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 7.5 receptions (+118, FanDuel)
Yes, St. Brown has seven or fewer receptions in three straight games (exactly seven in two straight), which explains why this over-under is where it is. But he topped seven catches in three of four games before that, including a then season-high 10 catches against the Bears in Week 10.
This is cut-and-dry. Plus-money on St. Brown to have at least eight receptions on Sunday begs for profit to be taken.
