Best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears
As you hone in your Week 17 NFL betting action, here are three Detroit Lions prop bets to consider for Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Before digging into Week 17’s Detroit Lions prop bets, let’s do Week 16’s accounting/accountability review.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 70.5 receiving yards (-115, DraftKings): 76 yards
St. Brown, 100-plus receiving yards (+200, DraftKings)
RB D’Andre Swift, Over 60.5 total yards (-110, DraftKings): 25 total yards
On to Week 17 now. The Lions are 6-point favorites at home against the Chicago Bears (via FanDuel Sportsbook), and the game has the highest-over under of the week’s NFL slate (52.5 points).
Shifting back to prop bets, via FanDuel or DraftKings Sportsbook as noted, here are three Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 17.
3 best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 7.5 receptions (+116, FanDuel, -105, DraftKings)
St. Brown has seven or fewer receptions in three straight games, which explains this over/under being set at 7.5. That said, under bets are less profitable than over bets, and on FanDuel the over is plus-money.
The Bears have allowed the fifth-fewest receptions to wide receivers this season (157, 10.46 per game). But they also have allowed the second-fewest targets to the position with the second-fewest pass attempts against in the league.
Against Chicago back in Week 10, with their secondary at full strength, St. Brown ha 119 yards on a season-high 10 receptions. A bet on eight catches, with profit to take on FanDuel, is a solid one.
WR DJ Chark, Anytime touchdown (+170, FanDuel, +160 DraftKings)
Chark has topped 90 yards in three of the last four games, as he has become the downfield threat the Lions envisioned when they signed him. He has only scored in one of those games, but he also had a stretch with a touchdown in two of three games from Week 12-14.
Despite having low passing volume against them, as mentioned, the Bears have allowed 12 touchdowns to wide receivers this season. Five of those touchdowns have come in their last four games.
Chark has a wide-range of outcomes, but he’s trending well and it’s a good matchup against Chicago. An over bet on a yardage prop is in play too, but absent that being out as of this writing I went with anytime touchdown a solid plus-money here.
QB Jared Goff, 300-plus passing yards (+180, DraftKings, +148, FanDuel)
Going a little aggressive here. But Goff has topped 300 passing yards (actually 330 or more yards) in three of his last four games. He has had some favorable matchups over that stretch, but the Bears look softer than those as injuries have thinned their secondary.
