As the Detroit Lions look to keep pushing toward a playoff spot, here are three bold predictions for them in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.

The Detroit Lions are a great story, having won six of their last seven games to put themselves just outside the final playoff spot in the NFC at 7-7. But with three games to go, it’s time to pay off the story with a fairly favorable schedule upcoming after playing a tough schedule thus far.

Going on the road is never that easy, but the Lions are favored to beat the 5-9 Carolina Panthers in Week 16 and it might be a sizeable spread if the game was at Ford Field. If the Lions are the better team, they will prove it with a win that’s never in much doubt on Saturday. But it’s also safe to say plenty of people remain a little skeptical of Dan Campbell’s team, and this week’s Pro Bowl selections show it’s a little early to entirely put the “Same Old Lions” narrative to bed.

The Lions need to keep winning, and let the possible help to their playoff chances from elsewhere fall where it may. A loss on Saturday won’t crush Detroit’s playoff odds, but it will hurt.
