The Lions are the best value on the board after rattling off six wins in seven weeks. They’ve covered the spread in all seven of those and now face a Panthers team that’s barely clinging to life in the NFC South race.
Detroit has an edge at every level of this matchup. They’re sixth in the NFL in yards per play (6.0) while Carolina is a pathetic 23rd (5.1). These teams are going in opposite directions too, with the Lions averaging 6.3 yards per play over the last three weeks and the Panthers only 4.9.
Carolina does have a defensive advantage. However, Detroit held each of its last three opponents to 23 points or fewer. With such a massive edge on offense, I side with the larger gap between those units.
