Best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 16 at Carolina Panthers
With the majority of Week 16 NFL action on Saturday instead of Sunday this weekend, here are some Detroit Lions prop bets to try to cash in with.
Before diving into Week 16’s Detroit Lions prop bets, let’s see how Week 15’s prop bets did.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 6.5 receptions (-105, DraftKings): 7 receptions
QB Jared Goff, Over 21.5 pass completions (+100, DraftKings): 23 completions
RB Jamaal Williams, Anytime touchdown (+130, FanDuel: No touchdowns
The Lions are in playoff contention with a 7-7 record, and the 5-9 Carolina Panthers still have a chance to win the NFC South. So Saturday’s Week 16 matchup has stakes for both teams, which would have been surprising if you said that before the season (as we can say for every Lions game at this point, from their end at least, at this point).
Via the sportsbook as noted, here are some Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 16 to try to cash in with.
Best Detroit Lions prop bets for Week 15 at Panthers
Amon-Ra St. Brown prop bets
Over 70.5 receiving yards (-115, DraftKings)
100-plus receiving yards (+200, DraftKings)
St. Brown has had more than 70 receiving yards in five of his last six games, with 68 in the lone exception. He has topped 100 yards in three of those, and unless Panthers’ No. 1 cornerback Jaycee Horn moves into the slot to matchup with him he’ll get advantageous matchups against the Panthers clearly inferior other corners.
Bonus St. Brown prop: Anytime touchdown (+115, DraftKings)
D’Andre Swift, Over 60.5 total yards (-110, DraftKings)
There’s a weekly boom-or-bust element to Swift, which isn’t news to any of his fantasy managers this year. But he has at least 13 touches in two of his last three games, with 111 and 75 total yards in those respective contests.
The Panthers have the league’s 22nd-ranked run defense (130.7 yards allowed per game). They haven’t allowed much in the passing game to running backs, but Swift had nine targets and averaged 6.5 yards per carry last week against a Jets’ defense that is similarly (and even more) strong in the middle of the front seven and on the perimeter in coverage.
Swift may not need a whole lot more than a handful of plays to get well on his way to 60 total yards on Saturday, with any further touches icing on the cake to cash the over on 60.5 total yards.
Swift is a risky bet to do anything, but I like this one on total yardage this week.
