5. Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, held to less than five receptions

Yes, the Lions’ have remained a pretty bad pass defense over their recent stretch. Wilson (63 receptions for 838 yards, four touchdowns) will be a huge challenge for whoever covers him on Sunday (likely Jeff Okudah).

Wilson has 19 catches for 335 yards, with two touchdowns, on 30 targets over the last three games with Mike White under center. Over the first three games this season, with Joe Flacco starting when Zach Wilson was injured, the rookie wideout had 18 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns.

In the seven games Zach Wilson has started thus far in 2022, Garrett Wilson has had below 50 yards five times and below 30 yards four times. Back-to-back big games against the New England Patriots (six catches for 115 yards in Week 8) and Buffalo Bills (eight catches for 92 yards in Week 9) shouldn’t be discounted, but the contrast in numbers with Zach Wilson under center for the Jets’ rookie stud is dramatic.

The Lions will certainly put a primary focus on stopping Garrett Wilson on Sunday, no doubt about it. Plenty of targets may come, but it also may not take long before he’s showing frustration with his new/old quarterback’s misfires and misreads.

Via FanDuel Sportsbook (odd subject to change), the over/under on Wilson’s receptions for Sunday is 4.5. The over once seemed like a slam-dunk, but give me the under here in a late development.
