As the Detroit Lions look to extend their winning streak and bolster their playoff chances, here are five bold predictions for them in Week 15 against the New York Jets.

The Detroit Lions are on a nice roll right now, winners of five of their last six games to give themselves a shot at a playoff spot in the final weeks of the season. A loss to the New York Jets, who are also a playoff contender with a 7-6 record, would hurt.

The Lions got a break (somewhat literally) when Jets quarterback Mike White was not cleared to play Sunday due to fractured ribs suffered in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills. So Zach Wilson will start under center for New York, with Joe Flacco as his backup.

The Jets have won five of Wilson’s seven starts this season, on the strength of their defense far more than Wilson doing anything to foster winning. It’s a prime example of why “quarterback wins” can be a flawed stat, but it’s all Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh can lean into with White’s injury bringing the move back to Wilson.

The Lions defense has been better lately, right in line with the recent winning stretch, and facing Wilson improves the situation for Sunday.
