Both teams are doing well, and here are early odds and a prediction for the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in Week 14.

The Detroit Lions have won four of their last five games, and their on a huge high after a 40-14 undressing of the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13. A narrow Thanksgiving Day loss to the Buffalo Bills is all that prevents Detroit from having a five-game winning streak.

In Week 14 the Lions will welcome the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings, winners of nine of their last 10 games, to Ford Field. The Vikings make it interesting every single week, with each of their last nine wins by one score and often not decided until very late. Back in Week 3, the Vikings hung on to beat the Lions 28-24.

The Vikings can clinch the NFC North by securing a season sweep of the Lions on Sunday. But these two division rivals have played nothing but close games over the last two seasons, and this week should be no different.

With odds via FanDuel Sportsbook, here are early odds followed by a prediction for Lions-Vikings in Week 14.

Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings: Odds and prediction for Week 14

Point Spread:

Lions (-2.5): -110
Vikings (+2.5): -110

Moneyline:

Lions: -134
Vikings: +114

Over/Under (53.5 points)

Over: -110
Under: -110

Yes, somehow, the 5-7 Lions are favored over a 10-win Vikings team. Within the general margin accounting for homefield (three points), but the line has actually moved a full point more for the Lions since Monday. It’s hard to say if that’s a sign of respect for the Lions, or a lack of respect for the Vikings given how they escape by the hair of their chinny-chin-chin every week. Maybe it’s a little of both.

Prediction: Vikings 26, Lions 24. Another close game for these teams, among many for both this year. But I’ve got Minnesota pulling it out, and cashing a plus-number on the current moneyline as the under on the point total narrowly hits.

Note: Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
