3 best bets for Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Week 13
As you hone in on your Week 13 NFL betting action, here are three best bets for the Detroit Lions against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Before the unveil of Week 13’s best Detroit Lions bets, let’s see how Week 12’s bets did (odds at time of post, and may have changed).
Lions, +9.5 points (-104, FanDuel; -110, DraftKings): Lions lose by 3, and cover
DE Aidan Hutchinson, Over 0.75 sacks (+160, DraftKings): Zero sacks
RB Jamaal Williams-Parlay?, Over 13.5 rushing attempts (-130, DraftKings), 75-plus rushing yards (+265, DraftKings): 18 carries, 66 rushing yards
In Week 13 the Lions will take on a team that’s also 4-7 in the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Jaguars are also coming off a solid month of November. Sunday’s game at Ford Field is a rich combination of a high over-under and a narrow spread, which as of Saturday morning has now shifted to favor the Lions, so there’s a lot to like from a betting and fantasy football perspective.
Via the sportsbook as noted, Here are three best bets for the Lions this week.
3 best bests for the Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Week 13
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Over 6.5 Receptions (-150, DraftKings; -158, FanDuel)
St. Brown has seven or more receptions in four of his last five games, and at leasty eight targets in all five. In his fully healthy games this season he has a 34 percent target share, with a 32 percent targets per route run and 2.62 yards per route run–both top-five numbers in the league.
The Jaguars have the third worst pass coverage grade this season via Pro Football Focus, and they are a bottom-10 defense in fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers.
It all adds up to St. Brown hitting the over on 6.5 receptions Sunday.
WR DJ Chark, Anytime touchdown (+310, FanDuel; +240, DraftKings)
In his second game back from an ankle injury on Thanksgiving against the Bills, Chark was back to a larger snap share (73 percent) with a touchdown on two catches over five targets. His former team is a nice matchup (as mentioned with St. Brown), and it’s fair to say Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will make some kind of effort to get him red zone looks and a touchdown on Sunday.
A plus-money bet like this one doesn’t take much to pay off solidly, and Chark is the kind of size-speed combo that has given the Jaguars some trouble this season.
QB Jared Goff, 250-plus passing yards (+102, FanDuel)
Goff has thrown for more than 250 yards just once in his last seven games. But he’s coming off a solid outing against the Bills (240 yards and two touchdowns).
The Jaguars have allowed over 250 gross passing yards in seven of their 11 games this season, including four in a row and five of their last six.
Good things are well lined up for Goff on Sunday. Over 250 passing yards feels like a great bet, and if you wanted to go a little more aggressive 275-plus passing yards for Goff is +188 on FanDuel.
Note: Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
