Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars-early odds and prediction for Week 13
As the Detroit Lions look to finish the 2022 season strongly, here are the early odds with a prediction for Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Detroit Lions were so close to making it four wins in a row on Thanksgiving Day, falling short in a 28-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills. After some extra time between games they’ll welcome the also 4-7 Jacksonville Jaguars to Ford Field.
The Jaguars are coming off a nice comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12, and they’ve won two of their last three games. The Jaguars are in a position the Lions hope to be in soon, with a young star quarterback in place (Trevor Lawrence), who seems to be figuring some things out in his second season. The switch from Urban Meyer to Doug Pederson at head coach has certainly helped the entire situation in Jacksonville.
Via FanDuel Sportsbook, here are the early odds followed by a prediction for Sunday’s Lions-Jaguars game.
Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 13 odds and prediction
Point Spread:
Lions (+1.5): -112
Jaguars (-1.5): -108
Moneyline
Lions: +108
Jaguars: -126
Over/Under (51.5 points)
Over: -105
Under: -115
This game combines a narrow spread and a high over-under rather nicely, like few on the Week 13 NFL slate. This game also once looked like one that would determine parts of the top-five draft order next April. Now the only reason the Lions currently have a top-five pick is because of the collapsing Los Angeles Rams, with their own pick at No. 13 and Jacksonville’s sitting at No. 11 after Week 12.
Prediction: Lions 27, Jaguars 24
The Lions get back in the win column on Sunday, in a game that’s tight throughout. A defense that has been opportunistic in recent weeks gets a takeaway late, to either seal it for Detroit or spark a game-winning drive. On the gambling angles, the Lions win outright at plus-money on the moneyline and the under on 51.5 points just barely hits as over bettors possibly get a bad beat.
