On a three-game winning streak heading into Thursday against the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions fans should be thankful for these three players.

The Detroit Lions have won three straight games for the first time since 2017. At 4-6, they’ve topped last season’s win total already and are in the NFC playoff picture in late-November for the first time in awhile.

Optimism is a rare thing for Lions’ fans, particularly those who are the longest-suffering. But it’s here now as the team will welcome the Buffalo Bills to town (back to town?) on Thanksgiving Day. Even if they lose to the Bills, as long as it’s not a deflating blowout, the optimism around the Lions won’t go completely away as the calendar gets set to flip to December. And that is the rarest of rare sentiments for Lions’ fans. There may be something besides a high draft pick at stake over the final six games of this season.

Oh, and rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams is on track to make his debut soon after Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving and the holiday season is a time to be grateful and thankful. Sports’ fandom is trivial in the big picture, but Lions’ fans should be especially thankful for these players.
