Detroit Lions best bets vs. Green Bay Packers Week 9
For Sunday’s Week 9 NFL betting action, here are three Detroit Lions best bets against the Green Bay Packers.
Before diving into Week 9’s Detroit Lions best bets, let’s review Week 8.
Over 51.5 total points (-110): 58 total points
Jared Goff, More passing yards than Tua Tagovailoa (+120): 321 yards vs. 382
Lions, 21-30 points (+140): 27 points
In Week 9 the Lions will try to end a five-game losing streak against the rival Green Bay Packers at home. Green Bay is 3-5 and has lost four games in a row, so Sunday is practically a must-win if they’re to have any hope of sticking around in the playoff race during the second half of season.
Via DraftKings Sportsbook or FanDuel Sportsbook where noted, here are some Lions bets to try to cash in on for Week 9.
Detroit Lions best bets for Week 9 vs. Green Bay Packers
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, 80-plus receiving yards (+124, FanDuel)
St. Brown was fully healthy for the first time in a few weeks last week, and finished with seven catches (on 10 targets) for 69 yards against the Dolphins. He’s now in line for more targets with the trade of tight end T.J. Hockenson, and Green Bay’s secondary hasn’t been playing that well lately.
An easy little parlay here would be the over on 6.5 catches (-122 on FanDuel) for St. Brown, along with the 80-plus yards at plus-money.
QB Jared Goff, Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+100, DraftKings)
Goff hasn’t gone three straight games with zero or one passing touchdown, and the Packers have allowed eight passing touchdowns in their eight games this season. So, what gives on this bet, you say? Green Bay has allowed multiple passing touchdowns three times this season, including each of their last two to Taylor Heinicke and Josh Allen respectively.
The 49.5-point over/under for Sunday’s game is tied for the highest on the Week 9 NFL slate, and the Lions’ defense is just not very good on the whole. So Goff will have to throw (over 34.5 attempts is also +100 on Draft Kings) and two passing touchdowns at plus-money feels like some low-hanging fruit.
Lions, Moneyline (+172, FanDuel; +155, DraftKings)
The Packers are favored by just 3.5 points. The pressure is all on them, in a game they are “supposed to win”, or they can pretty much kiss any hopes to do much of anything this season goodbye. So I’m going all-in the other way here with a bet on the Lions to win outright.
Note: Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
