Detroit Lions add Michael Badgley to active roster among four roster moves
Among four roster moves announced on Saturday, the Detroit Lions added kicker Michael Badgley to the active roster.
Saturday has been an active day for the Detroit Lions at times this season, and this one was no different. On Saturday, the Lions announced the following roster moves.
-Signed K Michael Badgley to Active Roster.
-Elevated WR Maurice Alexander and WR Stanley Berryhill to the Active/Inactive list
-Signed DL Demetrius Taylor to the Practice Squad
Badgley was elevated from the Lions practice squad in each of the last two games, and three elevations is the maximum before someone has to be signed to the active roster. He didn’t get any chances to kick in Week 5 against the New England Patriots, but he went 2-for-2 on field goals in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, including a 53-yarder.

Alexander has averaged 25.8 yards per kickoff return in three games for the Lions this season. This is his second elevation from the practice squad, as he’s be signed and waived a couple times, so he’s got one elevation left before he has to be signed to the active roster.
Berryhill joined the Lions’ practice squad during the bye week. With DJ Chark, Jameson Williams and Quintez Cephus on multi-week injured lists, he’ll be an extra body at wide receiver if he’s active on Sunday. His elevation is a bit interesting, with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds having been on the injury report this week, but the Lions would only have four healthy wide receivers without these two elevations from the practice squad.
Taylor earned a spot on the Lions’ 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie this summer. He played in one of the first six games, and he was waived this past week. After not being claimed by another team, he feels like an easy addition back to the practice squad. But he won’t be eligible to play on Sunday against the Dolphins.
