Here is the final Week 8 injury report for the Detroit Lions as they get set to play the Miami Dolphins.
The 1-5 Detroit Lions will return to the friendlier confines of Ford Field to take on the 4-3 Miami Dolphins in Week 8. A two-game losing streak has been particularly dismal for the Lions’ offense, as they dropped from the league’s top-scoring offense after Week 4 to ninth now.
Here is the Friday Week 8 injury report for the Lions, with game statuses for Sunday.
Detroit Lions Week 8 injury report vs. Dolphins
S DeShon Elliott (finger)-Out
DE Charles Harris (groin)-Out
CB Mike Hughes (knee)-Out
S Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle)-Out
CB Chase Lucas (ankle)-Out
OT Matt Nelson (calf)-Out
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion protocol)-Questionable
OG Jonah Jackson (neck)-Questionable
RB D’Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder)-No designation
TE T.J. Hockenson (knee)-No designation
WR Josh Reynolds (knee)-No designation
C Frank Ragnow (foot)-No designation
OT Taylor Decker (neck)-No designation
CB Will Harris (hip)-No designation
The Lions offense, with Swift, Reynolds and St. Brown likely to play with no injury to limit them, is as healthy as its been since the season started. Swift has missed the last three games with shoulder and ankle issues.
With Elliott out, and rookie Kerby Joseph already stepping in for Tracy Walker (Achilles, IR), JuJu Hughes is in line to start on Sunday. The absences of Mike Hughes, Melifonwu and Lucas will further stretch the Lions’ secondary depth, but the return of Will Harris will help a lot. C.J. Moore was recently brought back to be a reserve safety and core special teamer.
Charles Harris will miss his third straight game. At this point he’ll be coming back to a reduced pass rushing role when he is able to play.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of concern Jackson will miss Sunday’s game, but stay tuned for a possible Saturday downgrade
Mostly notably on the Dolphins’ side, cornerback Xavier Howard (groin) and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (back) listed as questionable. Howard was limited in practice on Friday.
