I genuinely can’t believe the Lions are underdogs to these Patriots. Sure, New England hung tough in an overtime loss to Green Bay. To that I say: so what?

Detroit handily leads the NFL in points per game (35) while the Patriots are 24th (18.5) and had to use a third-string quarterback against the Packers. It worked out for New England bettors, but this kind of offensive instability gives the Lions huge value as underdogs.

The biggest advantage for the Lions comes in the run game. New England ranks 29th in opponent yards per rush attempt (5.1), while Detroit…leads the league (5.9). Jamaal Williams looked every bit as good as D’Andre Swift behind the Lions’ stellar offensive line, and I’d make Detroit a three-point favorite as a result.
