Detroit Lions injury report: Week 3 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Here is the Friday injury report for the Detroit Lions ahead of Sunday’s game against the division rival Minnesota Vikings.
The Detroit Lions are hitting the road for the first time this season in Week 3, with an NFC North matchup against the also 1-1 Minnesota Vikings on the slate.
Here’s a look at the final injury report of the week for the Lions, with statuses for Sunday’s game.
Detroit Lions Week 3 injury report
DL John Cominsky (wrist)-Out
OG Jonah Jackson (finger)-Out
RB D’Andre Swift (ankle)-Questionable
C Frank Ragnow (foot)-Questionable
DE Aidan Hutchinson (thigh)-Questionable
TE T.J. Hockenson (hip)-Questionable
CB Amani Oruwariye (back)-No designation
S Tracy Walker (non-injury related)-No designation
S Ifeatu Melifonwu (hamstring) -No designation
S JuJu Hughes (shoulder)-No designation
After he had surgery on Tuesday this week, Cominsky being out is no surprise. He is expected to be out a few weeks, but he doesn’t appear headed for IR.
Jackson will miss a second straight game with a finger injury. He was a late downgrade from questionable to doubtful last week against Washington, before being inactive. Dan Skipper could get a second straight start at left guard on Sunday, or reserve center Evan Brown could move over if Frank Ragnow is able to play.
Ragnow appears to only have one injury now, swapping out the groin issue that limited him heading into Week 1 and leaving behind the foot issue that surfaced last week. After missing the game against the Commanders, he seems likely to play on Sunday after three limited practice sessions.
Per head coach Dan Campbell, Swift’s ankle is in better condition now than it was last week. He’s on the positive side of questionable for Sunday.
Hutchinson, coming off three sacks in Week 2, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday after being kneed in the thigh during a goal line stand against the Commanders. But he returned to a limited session Friday, and all indications are he’ll play against the Vikings.
There doesn’t seem to be any concern over Hockenson’s status. So go ahead and put him in your fantasy lineups.
Walker missed practice this week, seemingly due to his wife expecting a baby. That has been confirmed.
Oruwariye missed last week’s game with a back injury. He’s set to return to action Sunday.
Melifonwu is in line to make his 2022 season debut against the Vikings.
On the Minnesota side, three notable defensive players are listed on their injury report and two are out for Sunday. The headliner is safety Harrison Smith.
CB Andrew Booth (quad)-Out
S Harrison Smith (concussion)-Out
LB Eric Kendricks (toe)-Questionable
