The Detroit Lions have a lot of excitement surrounding them heading into the 2022 season, but can they win a lot of games and change the direction of the franchise?

It’s over-under season as far as NFL team win totals go, and the Detroit Lions win total is set at 6.5 wins on the WynnBET Sportsbook right now. That 6.5-win mark is the general over-under spot for the Lions with most sportsbooks, and sure to inspire betting on both sides–which is the point.

The Lions have the fifth-easiest schedule in the NFL this season according to The Athletic (subscription required). Pair that with excitement surrounding young players and the second year of this coaching staff, and this could be a fun season to watch.

Can the Detroit Lions win more than 6.5 games this season?

The answer to this question is very simple. Yes. The Lions’ offensive line is considered one of the best in the NFL. The running back room is also very good with a healthy D’Andre Swift and a very solid RB2 in Jamaal Williams.

The wide receiving corps also has a lot of talent as it looks to improve from last season. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Reynolds, and Quintez Cephus are looking to build off the success they had last season. With that hope that rookie Jameson Williams will be a full strength at some point, the Lions’ offense would get a boost. And don’t leave out the addition of D.J. Chark. Tight end T.J. Hockenson has turned into a team leader, and will continue to get better as the team’s offense improves. The biggest question offensively is will Jared Goff will be good enough?

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn did a lot with often little to work with last season, and the talent level has been upgraded on that side of the ball too.

The Lions certainly can win more than 6.5 games this year, and a push toward .500 is not out of the question. Smash that over, within your comfort level as a legal bettor of course.
