Heading into the 2022 campaign, here are the five most underrated Detroit Lions players.

With a long history of losing, and outright ineptitude, it’s hard for the Detroit Lions to get noticed for anything else. But there is always some good talent on the roster, however they might be overlooked, underappreciated or simply underestimated.

The latest Lions’ rebuild seems to be on a good track, as general manager Brad Holmes tries to build a credible roster and head coach Dan Campbell embodies a new culture in his own way. A step forward seems to be in the offing this year, perhaps even to the fringes of playoff contention.

On a national level the best Lions players may never get the respect they deserve in the form of position rankings, Pro Bowl selections, etc.

5. LG Jonah Jackson

Jackson went to the Pro Bowl as an alternate last year. So he is getting some attention, as he became the first home grown Lions’ guard to make the Pro Bowl in the Super Bowl era.

But along an offensive line that contains three first-round picks and an expensive free agent signing, it’s easy to overlook the former third-round pick who has started all 32 games he has played his first two seasons in the league.
