1. 25-30 touchdown passes

Yes, going with a range over a precise number is kind of a cop-out. But Goff is on a downward trend in passing touchdowns, from his career-high 32 in 2018, down to 22 in 2019, 20 in 2020 and 19 last year. Getting down to it, it can’t get much worse before Goff simply becomes a backup quarterback.

Over the aforementioned nice five-game stretch to close last year, Goff was on a 37-touchdown pass pace for 17 games. That’s unlikely to sustain over a full season (2.2 per game), not to mention that 37 touchdown passes would have been tied for fourth-best in the league last year (Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers) and one more than Josh Allen had. Goff is just not in that kind or air among NFL quarterbacks.

But getting to 25 passing touchdowns, less than two per game over anything from 13-17 games, shouldn’t be much trouble for Goff. With a few more multiple passing touchdowns games than might be expected, a push toward 30 scores through the air is possible.
