The buzz is positive around the Detroit Lions right now, but here are three trades that could push them all the way to playoff contention in 2022.

After a 3-13-1 season in 2021, it appears that the Detroit Lions are very far away from contending to make the postseason. Frankly, the roster still appears to have many holes in it along with upgrades likely needed in spots. But don’t be deceived, this roster is closer to contention than you might think.

Last year the Lions lost six games by one score or less and eight games by 10 points or less. Last year’s team was certainly better than their record reflected.

In addition to this, the Lions had a huge draft this year–drafting defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams at No. and No. 12 respectively. They also have a lot of young players who could be ready for a step forward this season, and some crucial players coming back from injury.

It’s not inconceivable for the Lions to be a few moves away from getting back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Let’s take a look at three trades Detroit could make to get them back in the postseason this year.
