The Detroit Lions skill position group looks a lot better than it did not too long ago, but how do they rank among the rest of the NFC North?

It’s clear from the moves made this offseason that the Detroit Lions want to do everything they can to put a good group of skill position players around Jared Goff and whoever is the quarterback for the Lions after him. In a broader sense, 2022 is a make-or-break season for Goff.

In particular general manager Brad Holmes has reshaped the wide receiver depth chart (Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Chark, Jameson Williams), which positions Detroit to have a solid group for a while.

The Lions weren’t the only ones in the NFC North to make moves with their skill position group. The Green Bay Packers traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, in a move that was not expected. They also added receivers in free agency (Sammy Watkins) and the draft (Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs). The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings stayed put for the most part, which was a good move for one and a terrible move for the other.

All this to say, now that the draft is over and free agency is mostly over, it’s time to rank the skill position groups for the NFC North teams in 2022.
