In celebration of FanSided’s 15th birthday, here are the top 15 draft picks by the Detroit Lions from 2007-2021.
It’s no joke, even thought it’s April 1 as I write this. FanSided, the parent company of SideLion Report, is turning 15. That also means the Detroit Lions have had 15 drafts since the company started. A nice, relatively easy number to look back on.
The list of draft pick misses and “what might have beens” for the Lions is long, and obviously pre-dates 2007. But they’ve had some pretty big hits over the last 15 drafts too, even if the exit of many was complicated, inevitable etc., in true Lions fashion.
Since 2007, the Lions have had five permament head coaches (Rod Marinelli, Jim Schwartz, Jim Caldwell, Matt Patricia and Dan Campbell) and two interims (Darrell Bevell, Robert Prince). Current general manager Brad Holmes is the fourth permanent general manager Detroit has had over that time, and for a little extra perspective 2007 was Matt Millen’s last full season in the job.
Determining a “best” list for anything is an opening for debate, and this will be no different. But here are the top 15 draft picks for the Detroit Lions in the last 15 NFL drafts.
