Detroit Lions 7-Round Mock Draft: After the NFL Combine
Fifth Round
The Lions first got a look at Jones down in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. He measured at just under 6-foot tall and 204 pounds at the combine, and ran a 4.31 40-yard dash time. Despite modest college production, which can be chalked up to lackluster quarterback play as much as anything, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has pointed to Jones’ upside.
"He’s fearless with the ball in his hands after the catch and as a kick returner. He’s not a very fundamentally sound route-runner but might not need to be if teams view him as a catch-and-run specialist in the quick game underneath."
Sixth Round
After seeing wide receiver value evaporate quickly early, the Lions grab another wide receiver in quick succession here. Drummond topped 1,000 yards in 2021, and he had 15 touchdowns over his final two seasons at Ole Miss. He’s a decent-sized slot receiver (6-foot-1, 215 pounds at the combine), with serious after the catch ability.

Taylor-Stuart’s college production didn’t always match his physical traits, and as expected he ran well at the NFL Combine (4.42 40).
As a moldable, and potentially versatile (cornerback/safety), talent, Taylor-Stuart is a worthy Day 3 flier for the Lions.
