Second Round

Scouting Report. WR. 33. 50. Pick Analysis. Purdue. David Bell. player

Bell won Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2019 (86 catches for 1,035 yards, six touchdowns), then he followed with 56 receptions for 625 yards and eight touchdowns in the truncated 2020 campaign (six games).

This season, in 11 games, Bell has 96 receptions for 1,286 yards and six touchdowns. He has nice size (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) with a well-rounded skill set that will play at the next level. He has officially decided to forego his senior season and declare for the 2022 draft, with his status for the Music City Bowl against Tennessee on Dec. 30 to be determined at this point. But given the general trend, it’s at best a coin flip he plays in the bowl.

The Lions need playmakers on the perimeter badly. Using the second first-round pick on a receiver is definitely possible, but the board fell in such a way here they land Bell and the top of the second.
