Here’s a look the final injury report of the week for the Detroit Lions heading into Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 0-7 Detroit Lions will look to finally put a mark in the win column this season on Sunday. It looks to be a winnable game against the 2-5 Philadelphia Eagles at home, and it may not take letting it all hang out on special teams.
Here’s a look at the final injury report for the Lions heading into Sunday’s game. As noted by the team website, Wednesday’s practice was a walkthrough and participation levels listed here were estimates.
OLB Trey Flowers (knee)-questionable
CB Jerry Jacobs (illness)-questionable
CB A.J. Parker (neck)-questionable
RB D’Andre Swift (groin) questionable
RB Jamaal Willians (thigh)-questionable
FB Jason Cabinda (hip)-no designation
TE T.J. Hockenson (ankle/knee)-no designation
The significant development here is Hockenson being a full-go during Friday’s practice, with no injury designation for Sunday. He had been listed as questionable in recent weeks, but has not missed any games.
Flowers missed two games with his knee issue, but he has played in the last three games and should be ready to go on Sunday. If it winds up being his final game as a Lion, don’t be surprised.
Parker left Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams with that neck injury. After indications early in he week he might miss significant time, being listed as questionable for this week is a good sign.
Jacobs has been a solid find in the Lions’ secondary thus far, so his surfacing with an illness is not great. But with a little more time to get all the way right from his illness, which is not known to be COVID-19 related (or not, as it were), maybe he’ll be fine for Sunday’s game.
Williams popped up on the injury report Thursday with a thigh injury. He had been listed with a hip issue in weeks prior to Week 7, so this looks like a new ailment. That said, it’d be a surprise if he doesn’t suit up on Sunday.
Swift has been dealing with a groin issue since training camp, with signs he’s getting healthier straight from head coach Dan Campbell. So the Lions’ best offensive player should be fine for game day once again.
