As the Detroit Lions reportedly mine the trade market for a wide receiver, here are five they could make a deal for.

At 0-6 and with the trade deadline coming soon on Nov. 2, the Detroit Lions are easy to tab as a seller. But on Monday Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the Lions are a buyer, at least in terms of trying to make a trade for a wide receiver.

Via Justin Maakaron of SI.com:

“A team that could be a buyer here at the trade deadline is the Detroit Lions. Yes, I know that they don’t have any wins, but they also don’t have any receivers. They’ve had so many injuries at that position. (They) continue to deal with that. I won’t be surprised if they don’t go out and at least talk to some teams — and they’ve done so already — talk to some teams about acquiring a receiver.”

The Lions thin wide receiver corps has gotten thinner with the continued absence of Tyrell Williams (concussion) and Quintez Cephus (collarbone) on IR as well. So it makes sense that adding someone with a solid bit of NFL experience is on the radar.

That said, the Lions are looking to accumulate draft capital, not trade it away. So they won’t be making a big splash to acquire a wide receiver before the trade deadline. Not that any of the bigger names who might be available would be a great fit anyway.

But there are options out there. In particular, these five wide receivers look like realistic trade targets for the Lions.

NFL Rumors: 5 wide receivers the Detroit Lions could trade for

Pick Analysis. WR, Eagles. . Scouting Report. JJ Arcega-Whiteside. 5.. player. 54

Arcega-Whiteside has played in all six games for the Eagles this season, albeit with more special teams (98) than offensive (46) snaps. He has have a single target thus far.

When the Eagles had the door open for someone to step up due to injuries at wide receiver over the last couple seasons, Arcega-Whiteside did not step through it (14 career receptions). But in theory, he still offers an intriguing size (6-foot-2, 225 pounds) and speed (4.49 40-yard dash at his Pro Day) combo that another team may think they can unlock.

The Lions surely don’t want part with more than Day 3 draft pick to get a wide receiver. A conditional seventh-rounder might be enough to get the Eagles to part with Arcega-Whiteside.
