Round 1 Pick 20: Center Frank Ragnow

This is Bob Quinn’s best first-round draft pick. Which is ironic, because Frank Ragnow was selected as late as Jarrad Davis. Regardless of the fact, Ragnow made a big jump from year one to two after a move from guard to center. He finished as a top-five rated center in 2019.

Grade: A

Round 2 Pick 43: Running Back Kerryon Johnson

I’m giving Kerryon Johnson a solid B grade. A few of his single-game performances were some of the best the Lions have seen in a while from running back. However, he hasn’t been healthy enough to produce a long-term impact.

Grade: B

Round 3 Pick 82: Safety Tracy Walker

Another rising star for the Detroit Lions. Tracy Walker became a fan favorite and it shows up on film and in his statistics. 103 tackles last season while only playing 12 games, that’s unheard of for a safety.

Grade: A

Round 4 Pick 114: Defensive End Da’Shawn Hand

Similar to the Kerryon grading, Da’Shawn Hand impresses with his single-game performances. The health hasn’t been there for either of them. Hopefully, both can turn it around.

Grade: B

Round 5 Pick 153: Offensive Tackle Tyrell Crosby

Tyrell Crosby was drafted to be a swing offensive tackle who could eventually become a starter. As for now, he’ll continue to be the Lions swing offensive tackle. He is one of the best backups on the team and has come up huge when replacing injured players. Again, outstanding value for a fifth-round pick.

Grade: B+
