Landing spot #4: Philadelphia Eagles

If there’s any team that’s desperate for a defensive back this offseason, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philly secondary has been atrocious for most of the past two seasons. Darius Slay would be an instant upgrade for them.

After the injuries to cornerbacks Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby, the secondary only became worse. This gave corner Sidney Jones more of a role in the Eagles defense, and he made a name for himself.

Jones is entering the final year of his contract, meaning an extension could be on the horizon for him.

If the Eagles can find a way to get a deal done with Jones, a mid-round draft pick, and Darius Slay, that would be a huge win for their camp.

Philly doesn’t have as much cap room as other teams, but they have a bunch of ways to enlarge it.

Both Darby and/or Mills could be gone this offseason. So that’s already one way they could clear cap room.

With the Eagles’ oblivious needs in the secondary, Detroit could really get a steal if they were to deal Slay to Philly.
