With the NFL Scouting Combine in full swing, here are three players that every Detroit Lions fan should watch during their workouts in primetime.

For months, the prospects the Detroit Lions could choose to pick with the third overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft have been debated over endlessly. Now, the NFL Scouting Combine allows fans to see these prospects one last time before draft day,

For the first time, the workout section of the combine will be televised in primetime on the NFL Network. So fans can watch these prospects perform like never before. For Lions’ fans, here are three names we believe you should definitely watch closely.

Isaiah Simmons, LB (Saturday, Feb 29 – 4-11PM ET)

Already considered by many analysts to be a likely top-ten selection in the upcoming draft, Simmons’ stock could rise even higher if he puts on a show at the combine. The versatile defender can play multiple positions, filling several needs for this depleted Lions’ defense. Although defensive tackle and cornerback could be positions slotted higher in the needs ranking for Detroit, Simmons may prove himself too talented to pass up.

Jeffrey Okudah, CB (Sunday, Mar 12 – 7PM ET)

The name Jeffrey Okudah and the Lions have been attached at the hip for months. The cornerback position continues to be a pressing need for the Motor City. And a possible trade involving three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay would intensify that need. Okudah’s performance at the combine could solidify his selection by the Lions even if they ultimately decide to trade down in the first round.

Derrick Brown, DT (Saturday, Feb 29 – 4-11PM ET)

The Lions made Ndamukong Suh the second overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. Ten years later, the Lions could very well make a player one longtime NFL scout called a better prospect than Suh, Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown, their first-rounder in 2020. The recent decision to part ways with Damon Harrison has placed the interior defensive line near or at the top of Detroit’s needs list. Brown could secure his selection with a stellar combine performance.
