The Detroit Lions struggled to a 3-12-1 record in 2020. Here are some of my draft crushes that could help the team rebound big-time next season.

After limping to a less than impressive record at the end of 2019, the Detroit Lions have many improvements to make if they’re to make the massive leap into playoff contention. To make that leap they will need to hit on most, or all, of both their free-agent signings and draft picks in 2020.

Looking ahead to the draft, there are a few positions the Lions may focus on to improve. This includes, but isn’t limited to, cornerback, defensive end, wide receiver, and the offensive line.

Luckily for the Lions, this draft class is strong and/or deep at many position groups which with the Lions need help. Both the wide receiver and offensive linemen groups are fairly deep, while the cornerback and linebacker groups aren’t too deep, but have impact players at the top and a few diamonds in the rough on down the list.

When the draft comes around there will be plenty of players that turn into quality starters that outperform their draft status and plenty of others that will disappoint and underperform their draft status.

Focusing on some players that could end up surpassing expectations based upon where they were drafted, there are four players that I like for the Lions. Two offensive players and two defenders.

These men are currently projected to be drafted in round two or later and could surpass their draft status, potentially turn into superstars and/or top ten players at their positions.
