7. Golden Tate overtime catch and run (2016)

Following up a 58-yard Matt Prater field goal to force overtime (one with its own case for inclusion on this list), a 28-yard catch and run down the sidelines from Tate lifted the Lions to a shocking 22-16 walk-off victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

This is the first and only overtime touchdown that the Lions have scored in my lifetime. It was Week Nine of the 2016 NFL regular season with Detroit on the road against their divisional rivals.

Facing 3rd and long on their first overtime possession, Tate found a soft spot in the Vikings’ defense. He made the catch along the sideline for a first down.

Xavier Rhodes, Minnesota’s star defensive back, came up empty on an attempt to knock Golden out of bounds. But the shifty receiver tip-toed to stay inbounds.

Tate would brake one more tackle, sprinted towards the end zone, and took a front flip across the goal line right as Andrew Sendejo came in for the collision in one last effort to save the game.
