Kendrick Bourne

2019 team/Salary: San Francisco 49ers / $645,000

2019 stats: 16 games played, 30 receptions, 358 yards, 5 touchdowns

Age: 24

Height/Weight: 6-1 / 203

Bourne has been a steady performer for the San Francisco 49ers’ offense over the last two seasons after going undrafted out of Eastern Washington in 2017. He has quietly amassed nine touchdowns and over 800 yards through the air during that time. He’ll look to add to his resume with a Super Bowl title a week from this Sunday in Miami.

Bourne doesn’t have blazing speed or elite athleticism, but he’s a tough, versatile pass catcher, and he has a nice array of spin moves and stutter steps to pick up yards after the catch and after contact. He does most of his damage in the middle of the field. He’d be a shrewd pick-up for Detroit;  Stafford is at his best when he has plus receiving options at multiple field levels.

Bourne’s sturdy frame is built to operate out of the slot, a position that is important in any passing offense. Amendola could definitely return to occupy that spot again, but Bourne is nearly 10 years younger and could even be a more affordable option. Having both wouldn’t be too bad either.
