The Lions actually had some depth in the 2010s at the safety position. Handing the torch from Louis Delmas to Glover Quin to now Tracy Walker, the Lions have managed to always have a better than league average safety on the field.
Numero uno is hands down Quin as he had played at a high level in four of his six seasons in Detroit. After that, you could go a few ways. I would understand Delmas, he had to hold together some very poor secondaries – and looked good doing it.
would understand Wilson, Mr. Consistent who had really good seasons in 2016 and 2019. I would even understand Diggs to a point, but really only had two good seasons in Detroit. His rookie season where he played mostly corner and 2018, nothing spectacular in either.
So I’m going with Tracy Walker, this All-Decade team is about the best talent and Walker has played better than any other safety besides Quin, and it’s not close in my eyes.
