Defensive End

The heart of the 2010s from 2013-2017 the edge rush for the Lions was always waiting for Ezekiel Ansah. Waiting on him to figure out football in his first season then waiting for him to get fully healthy after.

But you can’t take away what he did when you no longer had to wait, including 11.0 and 13.0 sack seasons in 2014 and 2015.

With Trey Flowers, the Lions ended the decade with a better overall defensive end, but not necessarily a better edge rusher than Ansah.

In 2010 and 2011 Cliff Avril and Willie Young were a real nice duo on the edges, while Kyle Vanden Bosch was overrated and a liability against the run.

This one is obvious.
