The Lions confusingly decided to part ways with young safety Quandre Diggs this past season, trading him to the Seattle Seahawks along with a 2021 seventh-rounder for an extra fifth-round pick in this draft.

Detroit likely instantly regretted the move when second-year starting safety Tracy Walker went down with an injury in the following game. Clearly, the Lions want to move forward with Walker and 2019 third-rounder Will Harris as their safety duo of the future.

But with both veteran safeties Tavon Wilson and Miles Killebrew scheduled to hit free agency this offseason, the Lions might need to bulk up their depth at the position.

Mississippi State safety Jaquarius Landrews fits the bill as a nice find at the top of Day Three. The 6-0, 200-pound one-year wonder racked up 72 tackles, six pass defends, and one interception in 12 games for the Bulldogs this season. In Detroit, Landrews would have time to develop behind embedded starters in Walker and Harris while also contributing on special teams.
