A quick roundup of where every team stands in the NFC at the midway point, and where the struggling Detroit Lions fit in to it.

I think I hit something of a breaking point sometime towards the end of the Detroit Lions‘ last second, last yard loss at Oakland on Sunday. Not directly at the end, but sometime in between J.D. McKissic‘s game tying touchdown catch and Derek Carr immediately leading a Raiders death march back in the other direction immediately after, something in me snapped.

This is how it’s going to be this year. Not good enough to put anyone away, too good to get blown out, every game is going to come down to the last five minutes, a possession or two, a tipped ball or two, one decision or coaching call, on and on.

Each and every week is going to be a slog, we’ll come out on the wrong side of it as often as not, and obsessing over this Lions team isn’t going to do any favors for my mental health this winter.

Taking a brief step back in perspective and taking a full look at the conference landscape, here’s my unofficial SideLion NFC Midseason Report, with a quick look at each of the 15 teams that aren’t driving me up a wall right now.

To finish up the brief summaries of each NFC division, I also include what predictions I would make if I absolutely had to make predictions for the rest of the season.
