Robbed by NFL officials on Monday night, the Detroit Lions will look to take their collective frustration out on a divisional foe, the Minnesota Vikings, this Sunday.
The Detroit Lions are a team that seems to be on the cusp of something great. On Monday night, they had a chance to prove just that against the NFC North divisional leader, the Green Bay Packers.
Despite having the lead for most of the contest, several bad (and missed) calls by the officiating crew shifted the momentum of the game to the home team in Green Bay.
In the end, those and other mistakes allowed the Packers to defeat the Lions in primetime by the slimmest of margins, 23-22, with a walk-off field goal. Despite the extreme frustration all of Detroit felt after the game, the grueling schedule marches on. And now the Pride are set to take on another NFC North foe.
This time it’s the 4-2 Minnesota Vikings. Hot off a decisive 38-20 victory over the 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles, the Lions will face the challenge of shutting down a suddenly red hot quarterback in Kirk Cousins that passed for 333 yards and four touchdowns in Week Six.
