Another divisional showdown is on the horizon as the Detroit Lions host the Minnesota Vikings, but one Vikings player is in for a rude awakening.

The Detroit Lions are finally hitting some divisional opponents on their schedule. The Lions just lost 23-22 in a Monday night showdown with the Green Bay Packers. Next up, the Minnesota Vikings travel to the Motor City. And here’s why one Vikings’ player is in for a rude awakening this Sunday …

After coming off a big victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at home, Vikings wide receiver Laquon Treadwell made a comment he might regret. In the locker room after the game, he responded to Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer with one word in regards to the game in Detroit: “Easy.”

In the video of this infamous exchange, Zimmer is speaking to his players and letting them know of the importance of going to Detroit and coming out with a win. Treadwell offers his unprompted opinion based on … well, not facts.

The Lions have been tough against every opponent they’ve played. The Arizona Cardinals couldn’t move the ball until the fourth quarter. The Los Angeles Chargers and Eagles would surely say this Lions squad isn’t an “easy” opponent.

What about the last team to visit Ford Field? The Kansas City Chiefs are in a funk after the Lions gave the league a blueprint on how to neutralize their fearsome offense. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was held without a touchdown pass for the first game this season. “Easy” isn’t the word I’d use to describe holding a team to zero touchdown passes.

Next. Who are the greatest QBs in Lions histroy not named Stafford or Layne?. dark

Treadwell might be thinking of a team in year’s past. But this year, it’s not what he’s expecting. Then again, he might be thinking of his recent visit to Detroit knowing he walked away without being signed to a contract before ending up back on the Vikings. Either way, his one catch for 15 yards on the season isn’t going to scare this Detroit Lions defense come Sunday.
