After a disappointing Week 1 tie, can the Detroit Lions rebound against a hurting Los Angeles Chargers team? SideLion Report examines what to look for on each side of the ball.

0-0-1 isn’t the way the Detroit Lions envisioned beginning the 2019 season, but that’s where they stand heading into their home opener with against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With both clubs arriving at different outcomes in overtime last week, another tightly contested game could be at hand.

Like the Lions, the Chargers blew a large lead in their opener. However, L.A. was able to gain the upper hand in the extra frame, walking away with a 30-24 victory against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Lions registered their first tie since 1984, 27-27 against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, and will face a Chargers squad missing several key contributors, on both sides of the ball (and potentially on special teams as well).

The Chargers though, still boast an impressive collection of talented players across the roster.

What does Detroit need to do to pick up their first victory of the season? Here, and each week, we’ll scout each team’s offense, defense and special teams units, how they match up against each other, and offer two players to watch from each squad.
