The Detroit Lions record is always being guessed at prior to the season. What might their record look like at this year’s end? Let’s discuss it this week!
The Detroit Lions are on the precipice of another new season and will face the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday. Like most, we are waiting to see our team matchup with another team where everyone is trying to put their best players into the contest to win a meaningful game. Everyone is trying to observe instead of prognosticating, see real improvements, not guesses- but until then here are ours.
This Sunday we will know whether or not our team is better than the Arizona Cardinals. There’s no doubt that the Lions have gotten better at certain positions and added talent. We already know what the national media thinks the answer is.
Many publications, like ESPN, have the Detroit Lions winning just four games leading to complete turnover of the franchise. Admittedly, we overestimated the number of wins by a few last year without knowing that Golden Tate would be gone or the number of injuries we would sustain. This year we’re 100 percent sure that we have a proper perspective on the team.
75 percent – 80 percent sure…
Detroit Lions schedule prior to the bye
The first four opponents are all pretty talented with only the Arizona Cardinals being a team that picked high in the last draft. We are at the Arizona Cardinals, home for the Los Angeles Chargers, at the Philadelphia Eagles, and then back home to battle the Kansas City Chiefs to start the campaign. Kick In The Crotch Weekly feels like we should split those games and be 2-2 going into our first break.
The Arizona Cardinals picked first because they’re not good. The Detroit Lions need to win that game. Of the following three games we believe that it is also reasonable for us to beat either the Eagles or Chargers but the Detroit Lions should play tight ball games with all three assuming they are healthy.
Is that optimistic? Perhaps but most of those teams are dealing with players missing for various reasons while the Detroit Lions are almost completely healthy with the exception of Jarrad Davis who is rehabbing a high ankle sprain.
