The Detroit Lions drafted nine rookies, signed 12, and invited 13 more to camp. This will lead to many battles for roster spots. Who will make the final 53?

The Detroit Lions have added a lot of competition so far this offseason for the roster. As of now, in addition to offseason acquisitions, the Lions have brought in 34 rookies to compete for a roster spot. In all likelihood, we will see probably no more than 10-11 stick to the roster, but it will be fun to see which rookies show they belong!

Of the current 34 rookies brought in, nine of them were drafted by the Lions. Of the remaining 25 rookies; 12 of them were given undrafted free agent contracts, and 13 were invited to camp to see if they could stick around on the roster.

With 78 players already on the roster (including the nine drafted rookies), and another 25 to soon be joining them, there will be some very heated camp battles to see who can stick to the end of the roster.

Whether the Lions are done signing or inviting rookies is unknown, and there are sure to be some late preseason roster cuts from other teams that will intrigue general manager Bob Quinn. But as of right now, the roster is set and the players are ready to compete for their spot on the team.
