*There has been a trade: The New York Jets trade #3 overall to the New York Giants in exchange for #6 overall, #37 overall, and the Giants’ 2020 4th rounder.*

With the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select…

Kyler Murray. 3. player. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. Oklahoma. 31. Scouting Report

And here it is! The first trade in the draft sees the Giants jump up three spots to secure their quarterback of the future. Murray is the best quarterback in this draft and there is no way he falls to the sixth overall pick.

Because of this, the Giants feel they need to jump above the Jon Gruden-led Oakland Raiders and ensure they get the best quarterback this year. It costs them an extra second rounder this year and a fourth next year, but it is worth it to make sure they have a quarterback once they move on from Eli Manning.

Murray brings an array of fascinating abilities to one of the most popular cities in the world. His potential screams of a potential star and being in New York City certainly won’t hurt his star take off. Murray will probably have to sit behind Manning for a little while, but once he gets the call he could be one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in the league.

Looking ahead to next year, the Giants could feature an offense composed of Murray, running back Saquon Barkley, reliable underneath and YAC King wide receiver Golden Tate, intermediate threat Sterling Shepard, and a potential first round rookie wide receiver like Jerry Jeudy to stretch the field. With this potential point factory in mind, Giants GM finally makes a smart decision to move up and grab the most electric passer in the draft.
