59. . MIAMI DOLPHINS (7-9). . Daniel Jones, QB - Duke. 13. player

The Miami Dolphins have just moved on from the Ryan Tannehill experiment and look poised to jump right back in and select another signal-caller early. Daniel Jones has looked very polished coming from Duke head coach, David Cutcliffe’s program but he also possesses the pocket awareness and some good physical tools to do well in the NFL.

Jones is 6-5, 221 pounds as of the combine and looked very accurate at his pro day, showing zip and deep touch during his session. He won’t scare many people with his legs but he has more than enough speed to be tough to corral in a short period of time at 4.80 speed in the forty-yard dash. Jones never put up huge numbers at Duke but his completion percentage and touchdown to interception ratio have been very good.

Cutcliffe runs a pro-style system which also gives Jones an edge that not all of the candidates have.  The Dolphins could go, Rashan Gary, Jonah Williams, or any number of other options here but the quarterback position is their most pressing. They would be ecstatic to see Jones fall to them without having to trade up.
