The Detroit Lions have big decisions to make in this upcoming draft. Today we’ll throw general manager Bob Quinn some free advice about who and what to do.

The Detroit Lions draft discussion is in full swing as is the mock draft season now that the Super Bowl has concluded. Of course, Detroit is the new home of two former New England Patriots in head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn, both coming to the Motor City after their careers were launched in Foxboro.

Fans still want to know: “Has our brain trust learned from the mistakes of Lions’ past leading up to this coming draft?” After watching the Pats get to their ninth Super Bowl since 2001,  all fans including us at Kick In the Crotch Weekly are salivating at the idea of that kind of dominance. Detroit has zero appearances in the annual event that started after the NFL-AFL merger back in 1967. Ouch.

One Internet meme sarcastically quipped that Detroit is, “Still undefeated in the Super Bowl.” Or there’s the classic Lion King meme where Simba asks Mufasa, “Dad, what’s a Super Bowl?” To which Mufasa responds, “I don’t know, son, we’re Lions.” That’s just hurtful. Plain piling-on.

Detroit Lions draft options

At pick number eight the Lions could go in many different directions. Some of those directions have been tried, although one player’s failures are no sure thing of it happening again.

Here is a list of players that Kick In the Crotch Weekly says will be gone prior to the Lions being on the clock. Obviously, barring trades seven players will be gone but we can only make educated guesses with only part of the pre-draft process completed.

Nick Bosa, Defensive end/ edge, Ohio State
Quinnen Williams, Defensive tackle, Alabama
Josh Allen, Edge/ outside linebacker, Kentucky

Let’s look at the Lions’ options beyond those three …
