Kenny Wiggins

Age: 30
Height/Weight: 6-6, 330
2018 Salary: $2.5 million
2019 Status: Signed through 2019

Signed as a depth player in 2018, Wiggins was forced into a starting role after Lang’s season-ending injury against the Vikings. The results were … not great. He wasn’t awful, but he simply doesn’t offer what Lang does on the interior. Wiggins’ signed for one more year at $2.5 million, but remains best served as a backup and spot starter. If he gets the nod Week One in September, we’ll know something went awry during the offseason.

Joe Dahl

Age: 25
Height/Weight: 6-4, 305
2018 Salary: $630,000
2019 Status: Signed through 2019

Dahl’s had a slow, grinding start to his NFL career, due in part to injury and a positional switch – he was primarily a tackle in his last two seasons at Washington State. While he saw some occasional snaps at guard  out of necessity, he was primarily used as a gadget player in 2018, used in some jumbo packages and even playing some fullback. If Dahl remains on the roster in 2019, the Lions could give him another shot at winning the job, should they exhaust their other options.
