Should the Detroit Lions trade for Antonio Brown?
FINAL THOUGHTS
This team needs to focus on strong defense and ball control on the offense. A player like Antonio Brown could make Detroit explosive on offense, but I have my doubts.

Stafford had a tough year, but supplying him with more weapons isn’t the answer. If anything, the Lions need to develop their own guys on offense – like they have with wide receiver Kenny Golladay (2017 Draft, Round 3, Pick #96).
Plus, this team has never had an elite defense. The Detroit Lions, unlike most NFL teams right now, chose a defensive minded head coach in Matt Patricia. So, give Patricia – not Stafford – the defensive talent and weapons that he needs to succeed.
In the long run, a strong defensive identity will change this franchise. And no matter who is taking the snaps from center, they will be better for it.
Make opposing offenses uncomfortable. Make it hard to move the ball. Use the defense to make them look like us – inept on offense.
Brown is simply too risky for this Lions roster. And he doesn’t provide for Detroit’s biggest areas of need.
The reasonable pay and the production make Antonio Brown a tempting acquisition. But the draft picks should have more impact on this roster long-term. But with one qualifier (and it’s a big one): if they pick the right guys.
