- Barry Sanders leading the NFL in rushing

- Prime Barry Sanders, electrifying for 2,166 yards from scrimmage (1,883 rushing)
- Prime Herman Moore, reaching the Pro Bowl with 1,173 receiving yards and 11 TDs
- Mel Gray, the greatest return specialist in franchise history, making first team All-Pro for the third and final time

- Ridiculous big play potential from Barry, Herman Moore, Mel Gray, and even lower tier guys like Johnnie Morton and Brett Perriman
- Barry flirted with 2,000 rushing yards
- Gray had three kickoff return touchdowns, and Morton had another
