The Detroit Lions will have to face the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field without two of their Pro Bowl starters. Let’s dive into the final injury report.

The 3-5 Detroit Lions are still searching for their team identity. But the bad news is we’re heading into Week 10. Now the Lions are forced to face a surging Chicago Bears team without two of their Pro Bowl-level starters.

According to Detroit’s final injury report, both starting cornerback Darius Slay and right guard T.J. Lang have already been ruled out for the pivotal divisional matchup in the Windy City. Slay is dealing with a knee injury, while Lang is having neck issues. Both players were elected to the Pro Bowl last season, Slay for the first time in his stellar five-year career.

The absence of Slay will put an already questionable defensive secondary in Detroit under a tremendous amount of pressure facing an improving passing game in Chicago. The Bears have thrown for 300 yards or more through the air in three of their last five games.

The combination of cornerbacks Nevin Lawson, Teez Tabor and DeShawn Shead will have their work cut out for them as they attempt to fill in the massive shoes of Slay.

Appearing as questionable on the Lions final injury report are three other starters in rookie running back Kerryon Johnson (ankle), premier pass rusher Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder), and tight end Luke Willson (shoulder). All three starters participated in every practice session this past week on a limited basis.
